The Practical Test
The driving tests last for approximately 40 minutes and takes in a variety of roads. Throughout the test the examiner will be looking for overall safe driving. To pass the test you will have to complete the drive with 15 minor faults or fewer. However if you received 16 minor errors or if you commit one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the test.The Test
The test will begin with an eyesight test. If you fail the eyesight test you cannot continue the practical test. After the eyesight test you will be asked two safety check questions. (Click on this link at the bottom of the page for a list of the questions used) After this, the driving part of the test will begin, the examiner will look at your general driving, two reversing exercises and possibly an emergency stop. The two reversing exercises will be chosen from, reversing around a corner, a turn in the road and a reverse parking manoeuvre.Don’t be nervous, remember what you’ve learned and Go for it!!
At the end of the test the examiner will inform you if you’ve passed or failed and give you a full debrief on any faults you that may have incurred.
